"Er, Alayne, do you remember what Failend was talking about at dinner last night?"

"Oh." I said. My face lost all its color. "Yes."

( Hint hint. )

"What?"She said

"Nothing..." I backing away. "Don't we have to go... somewhere, Crim?"

"Yes, I believe so." I said, following slowly.

She impulsively grabbed his arm.A mark fizzed into view.
"Hmm?"

"Oh." I looked down at my arm.

I gigled. "Hi. I'm Alayne. He's Crimthann."

She nodded.
"And he can transform to...something,i presume?"

"Yes." I said, shifting into a fox.


"We both can." In a second I was a kestrel ( whicch is a falcon, if you didn't know, which you probably did... ), and landed on the lady's sholder.

"Why wouldn't you tell me before?"She said looking at the kestrel

( Okay, good. Figured you would. )

"Government." My fox form said matter-o-factly. I changed back. "Ugh, I hate how I end up on my hands and knees."

I tactfuly flew over to Crim's sholder before changing back. We both fell to the ground, but I had him as a cusion.

"Hey!"

She laughed,and gave them the same speech as she had given to everyone with the mark.

I was sitting on Crim's stomach, quite comfortably, by the time she finished. "That sounds great, but do you happen to have a map? Because we might possiblly need to tell our older sister about this."

"Yes." I said, trying to shove my sister off. "We're thirteen. We do need to tell our older sister."

"But it's okay, though. She can fly and levitate things. Everyone in our family can do something."

She nodded.
"I don't have a conventional map,but I could draw on for you."

"That'd be great." I said, getting up sadly.


I sighed when she got off of me, relieveed. "Adair can disapear, and Failend can walk through walls... and doors, and windows, and trees." I looked around. "And also pipes."

She sketched a map and handed it to them.

"Thanks." I took the map. "So... there is here?" I pointed to a place on the map, with a little x.

"No. It's the moon, Crim." I rolled my eyes. "We'll be back tomorrow!"

"Aright"She said,and smiling turned back to her pacing.

( *it shall now be tomorrow* )

"I'm serious, Adair, it's right this way! Look at the map!" I pleaded. "Don't leave!"

"First of all, Alayne, I don't know the way out to leave. Second of all, its writen on a napkin. I know you made it."

"But she didn't!" I said, in fox form.

"Crim, honestly, you freak me out when you talk as a fox."

"Sorry, Failend." I sighed, shifting back.

"Hello"said Nymphadora suddenly"Are you all like this?"

"Told you." I put my hands on my hips.

"Uh, hi." I said, a little shocked. At least they seemed to know eachother.

"Hello." I said, glancing at Adiar. His mouth was wide open. "Shut your mouth." I elbowed him in the stomahce.

"Ow!" I shut my mouth.

"Aparently." I said,glancing at my family.

She laughed

"Its not so funny when you live with them."

"Yes, Ally. It's not so funny when I live with you."

"Shut up!" I threw myself onto Adair, but he had already disapeared. I crashed into Failend.

"Watch it!" I slid through Alayne, who then fell on the ground... right on top of the invisible Adair.

"Ow, again!"

I just shook my head.

She merely laughed again

"Ha ha." I said from ontop of Adiar, still invisible.

"Get off, Alayne!"

"Alayne, do get off of your brother."

"No."

"Alayne!" I reached down to pull her off.

"GUYS!" I shouted loudly. They all stood up, glaring at me. Alayne turned into a kestrel and landed on my sholder, her tallons digging into me painfully.

"Argumentative little things"She muttered

I swatted at Alayne, who raked her talons in the air. I sighed.

"Yes, aren't we?" I piped.

I leaned on Adair, sighing. "Uhuh."

I patted Failend on the head, not feeeling the nead to answer after they already had.
